Our Story:

My husband and I love to cook. Having grown up in the deep south, we are pretty partial to our southern food, and have dreamed of one day owning our own restaurant, a place where we could share some of our heritage. Last year, after looming oil layoffs, we began toying with the idea of a barbecue restaurant. When we were laid off in April, 2016, The Branding Iron was born.
We are a small startup, but what sets us apart is our dedication to quality and our heart for helping folks in Montana

We're committed and incredibly passionate about this. Our goal is to grow a successful business with which we can make an impact in lives across Montana. When you sit down and enjoy one of our plates, you're not just eating a meal, you're impacting families and lives across Montana. YOU are making a difference.

We're "Cooking for a Cause."

Meet the PitMaster: Wes Anderson

Originally from the Houston area, Wes has been submerged in some of the best barbecue America has to offer and hardly ever realized it. He grew up down the road from #3 on the top 10 list of BBQ restaurants and they went there on the weekends. Geesh! And we wonder why his standards are so high!
He's always had a dream of owning his own barbecue business, and now it's been made a reality.
Our PitMaster makes all his own rubs and sauce (but honestly, sauce isn't necessary). His dedication to quality and true Southern...erm, I mean Texas-style barbecue is apparent in his meat. Everything is slowly smoked over mesquite and hickory wood, just how it's supposed to be.

This is Annie, Wes' trusted sidekick and our mascot. She's never too far away from him, and they're quite the pair!
